When asked if the design of acoustics is an art or a science, John O'Keefe responds, as any Canadian would: "It's somewhere in between." He likens it to a craft, not unlike the craftsmen of the middle ages who used the latest technologies as their tools. Today we apply the lastest developments in science and technology to inform our design of concert halls, theatres and the like. Expresing the company's credo of "Science Serving the Arts."

From a young age, O'Keefe has been channeling his love of music into creative design. Design that employs the latest developments in the world of acoustics, which he has often contributed to, tempered by the to and fro of cooperative design. Design team co-operation, in his mind, is the key to successful performing arts centres.
