Victoria Hall

The restoration of the 19th century Victoria Hall in Petrolia Ontario included a 500 seat theatre. Acoustical improvements include slightly convex walls to prevent flutter echo and mathematically optimised acoustic diffusers along the back wall to improve listening conditions underneath the balcony. Elaborate noise control work was undertaken to maintain a quiet environment inside the theatre without compromising the heritage aspect of the large exterior windows on both sides of the room. In September 1992 the project was completed well below budget.
