Princess of Wales Theatre

The Princess of Wales is a double balcony, 2000 seat theatre built for the Canadian premiere of Miss Saigon. Our work covered the complete acoustics and noise control design, including an elaborate computer model - in the early days of computer modelling. In those days you couldn't purchase the required software off the shelf, you had to write the code yourself. It took us about two years.

The building includes stunning artwork by American artist Frank Stella which, on the balcony facia, which has been used to acoustical advantage. The room and its sound have been critically acclaimed. It is a beautiful addition to Toronto's theatre stock, the third largest theatre city in the English speaking world.
