History of Canadian Auditorium Design

This webcast tells the story of how many of Canada’s favourite performing arts venues were designed and built. The recording is taken from a lecture given to Toronto's Arts & Letters Club in October 2020 and, as such, is directed at anyone who might interested in architecture, music, theatre or, indeed, recent history. The lecture establishes a basic understanding of acoustics, tells a few tall tales about how some of these rooms were designed and, finally, looks to the future. In particular, how Artificial Intelligence might be used to optimise performing arts centre acoustic design.
