AI in Architectural Acoustics

Computers can figure things out faster than humans. Not better but, often, a lot faster. These days, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is apparently ubiquitous. Hardly a day goes by when AI does not touch our lives. Whether we know it or not.

But it's been slow to catch on in the world of concert hall and theatre acoustics. We have been trying to change that over the past few years and have recently started to publish some of our results. The first webcast on the right, comes from a Distinguished Lecture presented to the Acoustical Society of India. Links to the written publications presented in Bologna, Italy and Madeira, Portugal in 2021 can also be found below. A more recent addition was presented in Aalborg, Denmark in 2022. It's included here as Paper 3. The webcast is shown on the right at the bottom.
