P.C. Ho Theatre

This concert hall is the pride of the Chinese Canadian community. It is the hub the Chinese Canadian Cultural Centre which houses so much of Chinese Canadian history. It works very well for western music and theatre and has been acclaimed for that. But during the design, one of the chief intensions was a venue for Chinese opera. A performing arts style very much unlike western opera.

But the goal has been acheived, it works well for both Eastern and Western classical music, as well as theatre.

It is, indeed an architectural expression of the Occident and the Orient.  And all of it, thanks to the architect’s sensitive design, serves an acoustical purpose.
